How memory cards come to life

Have you ever wondered how memory cards are made?

We have come along a long way since the first digital cameras came on the market some 16+ years ago. Did you know that the first digital camera you could buy and take home was the Apple quick Take 100 and the Kodak DC40 in 1994! In 2003 the Canon 10D or the Canon  G1 came along and changed our lives forever.

Well they would be pretty useless without digital media – replacing traditional film. I still remember paying over $200 for  a 128MB card! Wowzers – these days in 2011 you can buy for that over 32GB in storage.

Here is a video showing how Lexar makes its cards. So with all the different process and over a month in production that takes place in rooms that are 100x cleaner than hospital operating rooms at the Micron Productions facilities.
