My daughter and I are traveling to Europe for 3 weeks, flying on ultra low cost airlines like Ryan Air & SATA – with allowance of 8kg and only one bag! yes that’s right (Ryan air allows up to 10kg as carry-on).
After research I settled on using Osprey – Farpoint 40 backpack that complies with SATA and Ryan Air luggage specifications of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. It goes for about 190CAD, here are key advantages:
- Main compartment opens up like suitcase
- has built in compression straps
- complies with low cost carriers like Ryan Air, SATA, etc.
- Laptop compartment is front which is not the best though
- Is light and has shoulder strap and handle
